Roman Polanski’s Wife Stands By Her Man
Emmanuelle Seigner says the ‘70s were “a crazy time.”

Roman Polanski sure has a loyal wife. The famed film director / convicted child rapist is behind bars in Switzerland awaiting potential extradition to the United States, but Emmanuelle Seigner is standing by her man.
The couple has been married for 25 years and Seigner says she has always accepted her husband’s “version of the events.”
“I am not a super-liberal person who thinks that nothing is that serious,” she tells the French edition of Elle. “I also think that at the time people didn’t live and react in the same way.”
She continues, “It was a crazy time. The attitude to drugs was not the same, nor was the attitude to sexual liberty and permissiveness.”
Seigner, now 43, was 10 years old when Polanski was arrested on charges of giving a 13-year-old girl champagne and drugs and proceeded to rape her.
