The filmmaker might choose to face charges.

Because director Roman Polanski has been denied bail or house arrest in Switzerland, he might return to America after 31 years to confront charges against him.
One of the filmmaker’s lawyers revealed the possible plan on Wednesday, stating that “If this process drags on, it is not completely impossible that Roman Polanski could choose to go finally to explain himself in the United States where the arguments in his favor exist.”
On the off chance that Polanski carries on fighting extradition for fleeing a rape conviction he could potentially spend another 6 months behind bars, according to the lawyer.
The director’s counsel has noted that the 76-year-old is “not in perfect health,” so whether he chooses to come back to the U.S. remains to be seen. (The New York Times)
